Services
Recovery coaches offer professional support and a strength-based approach to assist clients during all stages of the recovery process. Whether during active addiction, after completing treatment, or mid to long-term sobriety.
Recovery coaches are typically certified substance use counselors, or social workers, or have professional experience in the field of substance use and/or mental health. Trained in ethics and professional
boundaries, knowledge of evidence-based practices, and understanding of client-centered approaches are all criteria for recovery coaching.
Recovery coaches assess clients' current situation, the “here and now” while taking into consideration
past history to develop a treatment plan. Treatment plans focus primarily on a person's substance use
and recovery process, but also address ancillary issues and other dimensions that play a part in the
individual's whole-person care.
Short and long-term goals are established with the input of the client as well as action steps and interventions to accomplish those goals.
Recovery coaches meet individually with clients whether it is in person or via telehealth. The type and
frequency of services will be outlined in each person's treatment plan, whether it’s meeting once or
multiple times per week. Recovery coaches will be available by phone or email for individual needs
outside of scheduled meeting times.
RECOVERY COACHING
Case management can be described as a coordinated approach to the delivery of health, substance abuse, mental health, and social services, linking clients with appropriate services to address specific needs and achieve their goals.

Why Case Management? Because addiction affects so many facets of the addicted person’s life, a comprehensive continuum of services promotes recovery and enables the client to fully integrate into society as a healthy, substance-free individual. The continuum must be personalized to provide engagement and motivation, primary treatment services at the appropriate intensity and level, and support services that will enable the individual to maintain long-term sobriety while managing life in the community.
A successful case manager should:
-
Provide the client with a single point of contact for multiple health and social services systems.
-
Understand various models and theories of addiction and other problems related to substance use.
-
Be able to recognize the importance of family, social networks, community systems, and self-help groups in the treatment and recovery process.
-
Understand the variety of insurance and health maintenance options available, as well as the importance of helping clients access those benefits and navigate their systems.
-
Understand the value of an interdisciplinary approach to addiction treatment.
-
Know the various roles of providers in the health care system and understand each provider’s scope of practice, including their own.

CASE MANAGEMENT
An intervention is a carefully staged process that typically involves family, friends, or colleagues
addressing the identified person. If someone is struggling with alcohol, drugs, or behavioral issues,
Intervention is a proven method to support the individual on the path to recovery.
The process begins with a consultation to get a clear picture of how the intervention needs to be
carefully planned. Information regarding the client’s substance use, mental health, physical health, life
circumstances, and family dynamics amongst other areas will help identify the next steps of the
intervention.
The Pre-Intervention will involve meeting with family members, getting testimonies, establishing bottom
lines, and planning to meet the individual for the intervention. The interventionist will outline a
treatment plan, including travel and taking into consideration all the individual needs to make it safely
to treatment.
The goal is to execute the intervention and have the identified person on their way to getting the help they
need. The interventionist will accompany the client to the treatment provider, provide support while the
client is in treatment, and develop a discharge and continuing care plan.
INTERVENTIONS
Sober companions help individuals navigate their sobriety and live a more healthy and productive
lifestyle/find their recovery community. They can support an individual completing treatment, during
a transition, or during live events where additional support is needed to maintain their sobriety.
Sober companions have lived experience and are strong in their own recovery. Sober companions are
“walking the walk” themselves. They understand how to navigate early sobriety, and know where potential
pitfalls occur, and can protect from potential relapse.
Sober companions have essential knowledge and training when it comes to implementing coping skills,
crisis management, and relapse prevention. They are the bridge between the client and the treatment team toensure continuity of care.
Sober companions can be alongside or on-site with clients 24/7, whether it is a transition from a
treatment provider, a personal or business trip, or if someone simply needs additional support.
Sober transport is companionship that specifically involves travel. Transportation can be very high risk for
someone in early sobriety. Whether it is to court, treatment, a vacation, or a professional event. Sober
transports will travel locally, state to state, or internationally.
